The list of birds in Transylvania

Transylvania is the second most important area for Birding in Romania, after the Danube Delta. Brașov and Sibiu areas provide a unique combination of cultural landscapes and diverse natural habitats, ranging from still lakes and marshlands to alpine ridges. Imagine the diversity of birds you can see here! More than 275 species can be observed throughout the 4 seasons.

The bird checklist of Brașov and Sibiu area was compiled by team of local guides, based on their filed observations and on national lists of observations, such as rombird.ro. We try to keep it updated with the newest observations.
