Take you holiday to the most intimate level with a self-drive houseboat, into the wilderness of the Danube Delta. Sleep in nature, see the most beautiful landscapes on the board of a comfortable and cozy boat. Self-manage your Danube Delta route and schedule.

If you have an international boat driving license, you have the opportunity to self drive a nice houseboat and enjoy the amazing nature of the Danube Delta, by choosing one of the recommended touristic routes.

The houseboat is in Tulcea and you can drive it on wild channels and lakes (where the depth of the water allow you). You can eat on board or (recommended) on local houses along the way, we’ll give you all the information.

The houseboat can accommodate 4 persons, in one bedroom with a double sofa plus a double sofa in the living room. Also provide a fully equipped toilet with shower, a small cooking space, a large terrace with grill in the front, fishing deck at the aft and a sunny terrace on the roof.

The standard rent program is 3days / 2 nights. Can be more but can’t be less. You’ll receive all the information about the operation of the boat, on departure.

The price include:

  • The houseboat (max 4 pers onboard)
  • 400 l fresh water in tank
  • Gasoline, 160l (100l in tank + 60L in spare containers)

The price do NOT include:

  • Crew
  • Food and drinks
  • Returning of the boat on the last day.
  • Other elements except what is on “Price included”.

Optional:

  • Driver – 150 euro/day
  • Return of the boat to Tulcea 150 euro from Mila23, 200 euro from further areas.

Program:

We recommend a route to Mila23 Village, through the Danube Delta, on lakes and channels, surrounded by nature. The route is about 50km so you’ll need at least 5 hours to reach the village but also, you can drive for 2 days if you stop in beautiful places to admire the fauna and flora of the Danube Delta.

If you calculate to reach the village on the first day, you have the opportunity to discover also the local food in a local guesthouse. If you want to sleep into the wild, take with you food and drinks for 2 days.

For returning to Tulcea, by houseboat, calculate 8-12 hours, depends by the water level and stream speed.

Technical details:

The houseboat is about 10m long and 4m wide, can run with 10 km/h (6.2 miles/h; 5.4 knots) downstream and 5-7 km/h (3-4.4 mile/h; 2.7-3.8 knots) upstream. It is motorized with an outboard Yamaha 50HP High Thrust, with an average consumption of 8-11 l/h.

Boat facilities: Bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen, 2 terraces, outdoor freezer/cooler, TV, wi-fi system, heating and hot water plant, AC, power supply (220V) on batteries and 4 solar panels (storage capacity 10kw), power generator (4,5 kw).

Navigation: indoor steering console equipped with sides and rear cameras, Garmin electronic charts and transvers thruster (for easy manoeuvres).

Exclusions:

·        For Children under 6 no special facilities available

Booking

Bookings are based on 30% deposit. The payment options are: cash, online card payment bank transfer or Revolut.

A deposit of 500 euros is demanded upon arrival and released after final check on departure.

More then 60 days before the program you can postpone the trip (you will receive a voucher available 2 years). Less then 60 days before the trip, the deposit is non refundable.
