Enjoy in an intimate background of one of the experiences our clients reviewed as “the best trip to do to the Danube Delta”. Combines the Danube Delta’s nature, the kingdom of waters, with the most interesting dry land, Letea Sand Island, with one of the most preserved traditional villages, with a very special forest, with wild horses and delicious traditional meals.
Departing from Tulcea on the Danube’s Tulcea Branch, you’ll enter in the Danube Delta after 15 minutes. From there, a chain of small channels and lakes will take you SLOWLY, to Mila23, visiting some interesting parts of the Danube Delta. You’ll stop in Mila23 Village for a coffee then depart on another route over wild lakes and channels until Letea Village. From here you’ll be taken by a safari car (optional) and go to visit Letea Forest, the Northernmost subtropical forest in Europe. You can see wild horses, oaks grown on salty sand and other attractions of the place (depending on the season).
In Letea you can visit the village, you can have a traditional lunch based on local freshwater fish (optional) at a local, authentic household. After lunch you’ll return to Tulcea, mostly on the same route as the arrival one, but we assure you that in the opposite direction, everything looks completely different.
Tulcea – Mila23 – about 2.5h; Mila23-Letea – about 2h; Forest Visit – about 1.5h; Lunch – about 1h; Return – about 3h
The recommended departure time is 8:00-9:00 AM.
Lunch can be taken at a local household. Here they cook on a menu of the day the system, the same menu for everyone, based on fish. If you want to book the lunch, let the guide know this on the morning of departure.
This is NOT a restaurant, no orders can be made upon arrival.
Menu price is of 15 euro/person, payment is made in cash, directly at the household.
Letea forest visit: You will go with a safari car until you enter the forest and from there by foot in the strictly protected area.

Please take these recommendations very seriously, the weather in the Danube Delta can be very capricious and you may suffer if you are not well protected.
