Wildlife Guided Photo Tour in Dobruja for Bee-eaters, Rollers and Souslik - PRIVATE

Step into the wild wonders of Dobrogea and embark on an exhilarating wildlife photo tour! Join us as we journey through the pristine landscapes, seeking the vibrant hues of the European Bee Eater and the majestic flight of the Eurasian Blue Roller. From the comfort of mobile hides, guided by a professional photographer, capture nature’s finest moments in their purest form. Unveil the beauty of Dobrogea through your lens and let every snapshot tell a tale of untamed splendor.

Dobruja is maybe the best habitat for European Bee-eaters, European Blue Roller and European Souslik (Ground Squirrel). We know the best places here for photography.

Other species can be found here during this period: Little Owl, Golden Oriole, Hoopoe, Corn Bunting, Northern Wheatear and many other.

Best period is between May 1st to June 30th.

The tour is in Northen Dobruja (Romania), in the area of Tulcea City. You will be accommodated in Tulcea city or a close village, depends on which colony we consider best for that time.

For a maximum quality, we are doing this tour with up to 4 persons. We will use 4 individual mobile hides, set close to the Bee-eaters and Blue Rollers colony. The hours of activity are 6:00 – 10:00 and 16:30-20:30 (till after sunset) so we have enough time to take a break for brunch and a little rest.

Guided Tour – The guide (professional wildlife photographer) will be with you all the time, will advise you regarding places for photography, will help you to set the hides, will be close to you (in the area), just in case.

The program is as follows (example of 5d/4n program):

Day 1: We wait for you in Tulcea, at the hotel in the afternoon (we will send you all the details about the adress by email) and have a short meeting to know each other and to inform you about the program for next day.

Days 2-3: Start at 5:00 a.m. from hotel and set the mobile hides in front of Bee-eaters colony. You stay until you feel you finished all subjects there, if it’s sunny, usually we finish everything about 9:30-10:00, if it’s cloudy, we can stay more, as you feel comfortable. In the evening, we go to another colony and we will set the hides in other landscape (other tree for birds and other background).

Day 4: Start at 5:00 a.m. from hotel and set the photo gear on a wild meadow (in steppe), where are a lot of Sousliks. You can use camouflage or not, animals are moving a lot so you will have a lot of subjects also from hide. If you want freedom, to move from animal to animal is no problem, they are not so shy (if you do not want to use an wide lens :-)). We do the same thing in the afternoon, in another place.

Day 5: After a relaxed breakfast (9:00 am), end our program.
