Places and Birds – A Day of Stillness through Unseen Dobrogea
An experience for those who love nature as it is: honest, free and sometimes unpredictable.
There’s a side of Dobrogea that few people talk about — a Dobrogea of gentle hills, rare forests, and long silences. It’s not about famous destinations, but about roads that seem to lead nowhere and somehow take you exactly where you need to be.
The Places and Birds tour is a full day of quiet discovery and fresh air. We travel in an 8-seat vehicle (six seats available for guests, plus driver and guide), and the entire experience is private — we focus on our group, at our own pace. We usually leave at sunrise, when the light is at its best, but we’re happy to adjust the time to suit your preferences.
Over 8 to 10 hours together, we explore spectacular natural places that remain mostly off the radar — ancient woodlands, sunburned grasslands, hidden lakes, and rocky hillsides. Dobrogea doesn’t try to impress, but it always gives you something — a flicker of light, a quiet movement, a subtle sound — if you know how to be present. Every day is different. Every path brings something new. And that’s what makes each tour so unique.
This is a journey created for nature lovers — for anyone looking to reconnect with silence, space, and the rhythm of the natural world. We soak in the light, the movement, the peace of places that still follow the pulse of the seasons.
The tour runs from September through June, and the most beautiful surprises often come off-season, when the landscape is quiet, and nature belongs just to us.
We do not organize this tour in July and August. The heat can be overwhelming, and the places we treasure for their peace and beauty may become crowded. We prefer to offer a calm, authentic experience — far from noise, stress, or discomfort.
What to know before the trip
We’ll pick you up from any address in the city of Tulcea, and the itinerary is always tailored to the season and your interests. There’s no extreme hiking involved — we move at a relaxed pace, with plenty of stops, across a variety of gentle terrains. Difficulty level: easy.
Make sure to bring clothing and footwear appropriate for walking and for the current weather. A pair of binoculars or a camera is great if you want to take a closer look at what we might encounter.
Come with us for a day without rush, without noise, without a tight schedule.
Dobrogea awaits — imperfect, wild, and beautifully real.
