This is the most comprehensive birding tour in Eastern Europe, covering the key habitats and iconic bird species of the region, from alpine ridges to coastal lagoons, steppe grasslands to remote river channels. With expert local guides and a carefully designed route, you’ll track down the highlights of a large region in just under two weeks.
What is included: Professional birdwatching guide, all the necessary accommodations (11 nights) ; half board; a total of 10 days of BIRDING Tours and BEARS watching, starting at sunrise.

Included in this price:
- ENGLISH guidance – specialized birding guide;
- Accommodation at 3* level, en-suite bathroom, for 11 nights;

- 1,5 day BIRDING in Balkans, for Vultures and other species + 6,5 days BIRDING Boat Trips and mainland trips + 1 day Birds&Bears in Transylvania, with hide for Bears (please see the Itinerary);
- All the transfers for this tour, from Bucharest to Bucharest
- Fees for visiting the Danube Delta
Optionally:
- Lunch meal – the price is 15-35 euro/pers (payment directly in cash, RON or EUR, on the spot, to the restaurants).

Children policy:
- Minimum age to participate is 12
- Children over 12 years are charged as adults
- Responsibility of children’s supervision during trips belong to parents
- All children will wear life jackets during boat trips
Itinerary
Day 1 – Pick-up | Transfer to Bulgaria, in Balkan Mountains
We’ll pick you up from your Bucharest Airport or Center (Universitate) and transfer you to Balkan Mountains (around 5h drive). Departure from Bucharest at 9:00.
Free time to accommodate and have lunch, then you’ll have an evening BIRDING tour to the surrounding places.
Dinner is to the accommodation.
Day 2 – Breakfast | Morning birding tour | Free time for lunch | Evening tour | Dinner
Earliest breakfast to the accommodation then start a morning birding tour targeting Griffon and Cinereous Vultures, together with other species like Sombre Tit and other forest birds. You’ll go by car and will imply also a light trekking.
The guide will stop from place to place to scan and show you the target species of birds you have on your list.
At lunch you’ll have some free time then you’ll have the evening tour, searching for new species.
Dinner to the accommodation.
Day 3 – Breakfast | Transfer to Tulcea
After breakfast, the guide will transfer you to Tulcea, to continue the trip to the Danube Delta. At 16:00, you’ll have the boat transfer to Mila23 Village.

The transfer is done with medium speed, through one of the most beautiful parts on Danube Delta, searching for birds all the way, until arrive in Mila 23 Village. Usually, the transfer takes 2-2,5 hours. During the trip, we will have enough time to talk about the program for next day, details about boat rules, Danube Delta particularities.
In the evening, the host will await you with a delicious dinner, based on fresh fish.
Days 4, 5 and 6 – Start the birding trips at sunrise time | Breakfast | Departure for the day trip | at sunset Dinner
This days, every day, at sunrise, start an early morning trip searching for different kind of birds. The guide will choose the best destination every day, based on our fresh information about birds places.
Come back for breakfast then start again on a day trip, on three different type of habitats, to maximize the chances to see the largest number of species of birds.
Breakfast and dinner at the accommodation, lunches (optional) on the way, during the trip. The guide will give you all the details every day.
Day 7 – 8:30 Breakfast | 9:30 Transfer to Tulcea | Around 12:00 Arrive to Tulcea
Also this transfer is done with medium speed, mostly on the same way as on Day1, searching for the last birds to show you.
We’ll pick you up from Port Aval, at the returning from the Danube Delta Tour and transfer you to the accommodation in Tulcea. You’ll have some free time for check-in and lunch then you’ll depart to the afternoon/evening birding session. Depending by the season and your target list, the guide will design the route.
Dinner at the accommodation.
Days 8 and 9 – Departure to the day tour | Dinner
Usually departure is before breakfast (only if the group members decide to take breakfast to the accommodation we depart after), with breakfast to go.
The guide will stop from place to place to scan and show you the target species of birds. At lunch, you’ll have a stop somewhere on the way, at a local restaurant or in nature, if you have lunch to go.
The tour is ending sometime in the afternoon, in Tulcea, to the accommodation.
Dinner to the accommodation.
Day 10 – Breakfast | Transfer to Transylvania | Dinner
Breakfast at a relaxed hour then transfer to Transylvania (around 8h drive).
Check-in to the accommodation and dinner.
Day 11 – Breakfast | Morning birding tour | Free time for lunch | Evening tour | Dinner
Earliest breakfast to the accommodation then start a morning birding tour targeting forest birds, up into the mountains. You’ll go by car and will imply also a light trekking.
The guide will stop from place to place to scan and show you the target species of birds you have on your list.
At lunch you’ll have some free time then you’ll enter to the Bears Hide. Our local partner is one of the best in this activity, he knows the Bears very well and feed them fairly only with seeds and fruits. This hide is not to attract the Bears but to stop them on the way to the Village.
Dinner to the accommodation.
Day 12 – Breakfast | Transfer to Bucharest
Breakfast at a relaxed hour then transfer to Bucharest (around 5h drive).
Around 14:00 you’ll be to Bucharest, ending this long but wonderful tour.

This program is running with minimum 2 persons subscribed.
If minimum number of persons is not match, you’ll be fully refunded.
Shared Program
Being a SHARED program, this means the whole group goes with the same car/boat, at the same hours (hours detailed in the program). Please be on board at scheduled time for both.
Birdwatching tours
The most important thing for us, when we decide the route, is to know your target birds list. Please see the birds check list of Dobrogea and the Danube Delta and tell us the species you want to see most of all. Please download the list from here:
Booking
Bookings are based on 30% deposit. You’ll receive a payment link.
More then 90 days before the program you can postpone the trip (you will receive a voucher available 2 years). Less then 90 days before the trip, the deposit is non refundable.
The remaining balance can be paid on arrival at our boarding point in cash or by payment link (LEI/RON or EURO).
