Discover with our guides the wildness of the Danube Delta, beautifully outlined by channels and lakes, the simplicity and naturalness of the Letea village and, last but not least, the famous subtropical forest Letea.

Join a GROUP of up to 10 persons for a day trip to the Danube Delta, departing from Tulcea towards Letea village. The trip last about 9-10 hours.

Meeting and boarding

For this trip, the start is start from Port Tulcea Aval, at 8:00 a.m. For payments (if any) and the communication regarding the boat you will go to Letea, we are waiting for you at 7:45 a.m.

The route starts on one of the most beautiful areas of the Danube Delta, on small wild channels and lakes, until Mila23 village, where you’ll take a short break, for coffee and toilet, then continue towards Letea over the North lakes, until Letea village.

A safari car is waiting for you at the debarking point, for a visit to Letea Forest, the northernmost subtropical forest in Europe. There is a distance of about 7 km between the village and the forest, on sand field (savanna like) where you’ll travel by safari car, then walking about 20-30 minutes, on the route approved by the Administration of the Danube Delta. Searching for wild horses, oaks grown on salty sand and other attractions of the place (depending on the season), walk through the fine sand.

Return to the village where you can have the lunch (optional) at an authentic local household, where the hosts cook simply and traditionally. After lunch return to the boat for the trip back to Tulcea, on a slightly different route. Arrive to the boarding point around 7:00 PM.

*Depending on the season, the water level and the weather conditions, the guide will decide which is the best route to follow.

The price is per person, it is expressed in euro (EUR) and includes VAT.

The price DOES NOT include

  • Beverages, other than water at lunch
  • Lunch in Letea village, in local household – EURO 15/person. The reservation is made on the departure morning, at the boarding point. The payment for the lunch is done directly to the local household, cash in RON or EURO.
  • Insurance of any kind (travel, goods etc.)

Children policy

  • The minimum age for participating at this trip is 5 years (children born since 2020)
  • Children pay the full amount, regardless of their age.

Guaranteed departure:

  • With minimum 4 subscribed persons.

Details

The boat

This trip is done with an OPEN BOAT

With no roof, tarpaulin or windows. The boat looks like in the photos on the website. The speed for our trips is low/medium, our boats are NOT speed boats. These are boats built by the best Romanian boats manufacturer, according to our concept.

All our boats have benches with backrests for a maxim comfort. Every person on the boat will receive a life jacket, mandatory to wear it during the boat trip. We want to show you the beauties of the Danube Delta, to see birds in flight and flocks of pelicans soaring.

All the time we will try to show you something about the places we travel through, about the birds and the flora of the Danube Delta. Each season has its beauty, each area of the Delta has something particular and we’ll try to help you understand what makes the Danube Delta so special.

Shared program

Being a SHARED program, this means the whole group goes with the same car/boat, at the same hours (hours detailed in the program). Please be on board at scheduled time for both.

Please take these recommendations very seriously, the weather in the Danube Delta can be very capricious and you may suffer if you are not well protected. Equipment in the Danube Delta

More then 60 days before the program you can postpone the trip ( you will receive a voucher available 2 years). Less then 60 days before the trip, the payment is non refundable.
