During a season when only the brave ones get to enjoy the touch of winter on the Danube Delta, you can discover the nuptial plumage of Dalmatian Pelicans and Great Cormorants in a fairy-tale-like environment.
This trip is made by an OPEN BOAT, with no roof, tarpaulin or glass top. We would like to show you the beautiful wild Danube Delta so that you could see the birds flying.
For groups of up to 6 persons we will use a 8-passenger boat (for 6 tourists plus tour guide and driver)
For groups of 7 to 10 persons we will use a 12-passenger boat (for 10 tourists plus tour guide and driver)

The departure for this trip is from Port Tulcea Aval, at the time we have mutually agreed upon.
The trip
On a WINTER one day trip, you have the opportunity to see a large part of the Danube Delta under the reign of cold and discover a spectacular piece of nature, in a landscape that only few people have the privilege to see.
We would like to show you the sweet and peaceful “seclusion” of birds and mammals enjoying the wintry atmosphere of the Danube Delta.
We leave from Tulcea and we go on the route Sontea – Nebunu – Baclanesti – Furtuna – Mila 23, on canals and lakes that are not frozen. The route is not fixed and we will adjust it depending on the ice and the weather conditions.
We will travel at a moderate speed so that we would not miss the multitude of bird species remaining or overwintering here. We may encounter the Tufted Duck, the Red-Crested Pochard, the Common Pochard, the Smew, the Common Merganser, the Pygmy Cormorant and the Great Cormorant, the Dalmatian Pelican, the Mute Swan, the Whooper Swan, the Greylag Goose, the Greater White-fronted Goose, the White-tailed Eagle, the Western Marsh Harrier, the Ggreat Egret and the Grey Heron or the Common Kingfisher. At Mila 23 we will get you warm with a local brandy (tsuica) or a hot tea if you need to drive your car on the same day. Optionally you can also enjoy an authentic local Lipovan lunch.
On our way back we will focus again on the fauna and landscape and we get back to Tulcea before the sunset.
*Depending on the season, the water level and the weather conditions, the tour guide will decide which is the best route to follow.
The trip lasts up to 7 hours.
The price of this trip is:

The price is per boat, per trip and is expressed in euro (EUR).

The price includes:

- Boat for the trip

- Danube Delta visiting fees
The price does NOT include:
- Lunch in Mila 23 (a menu of EURO 14/pers.)
- Beverages, other than water, tea and tsuica (local brandy)
- Insurance of any kind (of travel, goods etc.)
Children policy
- Children, regardless of their age, are considered passengers and they are included in the total number of boat passengers (maximum 6 or maximum 11 group of persons, depending on the boat)

The boat
This trip is done with an OPEN BOAT
The boat looks like in the photos on the website. The speed for our trips is low/medium, our boats are NOT speed boats. These are boats manufactured by the largest Romanian manufacturer of boats, according to our concept.
All our boats has upholstered bench and backrests for a maxim comfort. Every person on the boat will receive a life jacket, mandatory to wear it during the boat trip. We want to show you the beauties of the Danube Delta, to see birds in flight and flocks of pelicans soaring.
Personal equipment
You will need personal equipment that is appropriate for very low temperature conditions during this period, which are sensed as even harsher when boating.

- Polarized sunglasses
- Hiking boots are not appropriate as they are designed for hiking not for sitting a few hours in a boat, not moving. A very good solution would be warm boating boots (boots made from various materials having a felt sock inside), which can be found in fishing stores. High-quality versions have very well insulated soles and thick felt socks. If you add ski socks as well, you won’t have any problems.

Cancellation Policy:
- With more than 60 days before tour, half of the payment amount will be refund
- Less than 60 days before tour, the payment is not refundable
*Extreme conditions:
In case of extreme weather conditions (snow, roads closed) occurred before the start of the tour, the deposit will be fully refunded.
If these extreme conditions occur during the tour, the price will be lowered only for the remaining part of the program not made.
If customers come from another country / region and appear extreme weather conditions, our agency has no obligation to compensate customers in any way for expenses related to flights or other transportation. Also, if extreme weather conditions occurring during the program and the clients can’t go back home, our agency has no obligation to pay accommodation and other additional expenses.
