To complete the payments (if applicable) and the communication regarding the boat you will be traveling with, we are waiting for you at 8:45 a.m.

The boarding will be done according to the instructions of our staff. You will be called out and you will be indicated the boat you are going with. Please do NOT board the first boat you find at the pontoon, as several companies board from this place and you risk getting to another location.

Parking the cars

  • Personal cars can be parked in Tulcea, right in the yard of Aval Port, in a private, guarded parking.
  • The cost of parking is Euro 5/day/car (parking price is NOT included in the trip price and it is informative, as it can be modified by the port administration, without notice).
  • For parking spaces no reservations can be made and the number of spaces is limited.

The trip lasts around 9-10 hours.

Our travel speed is average, ideal for our trips, where you will notice even the finer details of the places you will pass through. We will stop with every occasion, whether it is a bird, a flower, a landscape or a story that the guide has to tell.

The route starts with one of the most beautiful areas of the Danube Delta, Garla Sontea, we descend on channel 36, Garla Sireasa, Garla Sontea inferior, until we reach the Village Mila 23 where we make a short stop, for coffee and going to the toilet.

Then we set off towards Caraorman on the Old Danube, Long channel, Litcov channel and then on Caraorman channel to the village with the same name.

From the pontoons in Caraorman, we are taken by car with which we will go to Caraorman Forest. Similarly to Letea forest, it has a subtropical flora and a rich fauna (forest birds, jackals, deer and wild horses). After about an hour’s visit of the forest and the sand dunes, we return to the village for lunch (optional) at a haholi household (Ukrainian).

After lunch, the sandy areas beautifully bordered by traditional houses, will guide us on the way to the boat (leisurely walk, approx. 20 minutes). The return trip is on a slightly different route but as the Danube Delta is breath-taking, let’s see if you will recognize it again.

We arrive at the boarding point in Tulcea at around 6:00 p.m.

Visiting Caraorman Forest: You go with on off-road car or tractor with trailer. You go by car or tractor through the forest, on the authorized route.

*Depending on the season, the water level and the weather conditions, the guide will decide which the best route to follow is.

What we see – We always seek to tell you something about the places we go, about the birds and the flora of the Delta, crowds of birds and places with specific flora to the season during which we make the trip.
